Manam Kothi Paravai

Manam Kothi Paravai is a simple love story set in the backdrop of a small town in Tamil Nadu. Even though technology has improvised the metropolitan cities, civilians of towns and villages are still fighting over land, caste and creed which have been aptly depicted by Director Ezhil in this Tamil movie now.

Siva Karthikeyan did a prominent role in ‘Marina’ but for the first time he’s playing the hero and without a doubt, the television anchor has proved his mettle. The character of a simpleton suits him and his strength lies in the fact that the actor never tries to imitate a mass hero.

Siva Karthikeyan is the son of Ilavarasu and his father is in charge of the construction work assigned by their next door neighbors comprising Ravi Maria and others. Because of their professional association, the family is in close contact with Ravi Maria when Siva falls in love with his sister Aathmiya. Without her approval, Siva lies to his friends Suri, Singam Puli and others that they are in love. In order to help his friend, the gang kidnaps Aathmiya  just as she’s about to get married. The brothers begin their hunt to find the couple. Whether Aathmiya reciprocates Siva’s undeterred love is the rest of the plot.

Siva Karthikeyan’s comical body language is a highlight which justifies his character. Aathmiya is beautiful and acts very well. He’s strongly supported by his friends Suri and Singam Puli. They are absolutely humorous in every scene, riveting the audience with their rib tickling dialogs.

Music by D.Imman is good. Director Ezhil’s attempt is entertaining and funny at times!

Manam Kothi Paravai is one of the refreshingly romantic flicks among new Tamil movies.
